KEPRO to Provide Utilization Management in Maine
HARRISBURG, PA – KEPRO announced today that the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has awarded KEPRO its Utilization Management Services contract.
KEPRO as Maine DHHS’s Administrative Services Organization (ASO) will now be extending services to include Utilization Management including utilization review and quality management improvement for individuals who request or receive behavioral health services through MaineCare.
“For 10 years KEPRO has worked with Maine in the delivery of behavioral health services for their citizens,” said KEPRO President and CEO Joseph A. Dougher. “We are excited to continue serving Maine and look forward to providing additional services to make certain that the citizens of Maine receive the appropriate level of care they need.”
Since 2007, KEPRO has served the Maine DHHS to provide a Behavioral Health Utilization Management System for services currently purchased through the State’s Office of MaineCare Services and administered by the Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services, Office of Child and Family Services, and the Office of Aging and Disability Services.
Under the new contract, KEPRO will provide prior authorization, registration, continued stay review, retrospective review, pending eligibility review, as well as, ensuring the prevention of duplicative services and verifying eligibility for MaineCare’s behavioral health services.
